"It's a Small World"- Airplane/Boat

Recently, Mason has been asking me if we can do some activities. I love that he enjoys learning. Today our first activity was G is for Globe. We started by playing with different sizes balls. We then talked about how a ball is the shape of a globe and a globe is a model of the Earth. I made a letter G on the floor with painter's tape and the kids walked on it. Mason then wanted to drive his cars on it. So I put the Letter Set G pages at each end of the G and he had to drive his cars from one page to the other.

Our next activity was Flying to Numbers. We talked about how airplanes fly through the air. We decided that their wings help them to stay in the air. I then set out the people counters provided by Mother Goose Time and let the kids explore.

We then rolled the die, found the matching counting card, and put that same number of people counters in the airplane (box). They then each were able to fly their people through the air.

Lastly we used the 6 and 16 counting cards and Mason matched up the people counters on each of the cards.
Our last activity of the day was the kids favorite. At the beginning of the activity Red Boat we talked about who we would take on a boat trip. Mason said he would take Daddy and Papa. The kids then got the chance to play in a container of water with boats.

We ended the activity by exploring our My Little Journal for the month. They worked on draw a boat on the front of their journals. They then explored the rest of their journal to see what they are going to learn about this month.
